In 2014, at age 19, Charlie first started playing the piano with no previous music lessons, despite everyone telling him he would not be able to learn at such a mature age.

In 2015, Charlie composed his first piece on the piano titled 'Angel's Duet'. He submitted it into a music composition competition at his local conservatorium where he came first. This piece was a love story between him and his now wife, hence the name 'Angel's Duet'.

In 2016, Charlie completed a Diploma of Music (Composition) at Central Queensland University. In October, he was given his first paid job which was to compose the music for a local video for the council.
